The result of the elections to the Parliament of Andalusia on June 19 will also result in a change in the distribution of senators representing the Autonomous Community. It reproduces the absolute majority that the PP-A has achieved with its 58 seats. With this, the PP will now have five senators, the PSOE three and Vox one, according to parliamentary sources.
The distribution that will emerge after the constitution of the Parliament of Andalusia of the XII Legislature will disrupt that of the last legislature. The PP will gain Phone Number Data three senators, compared to the two that corresponded to the 26 deputies it achieved in 2018; The PSOE remains with the three it received for its 33 deputies and Vox retains the one it currently has.
Those affected by this Sunday's results will be Ciudadanos, who will lose the two senators they achieved in with their 21 seats, and Adelante Andaluca, as a confluence of Izquierda Unida and Podemos, will also lose the senator who corresponded to them in the XI Legislature for its 17 parliamentarians.
Andalusia must appoint 9 senators for this concept. The Organic Law of the Electoral Regime (Loreg) determines in its article 165.4 that "the Autonomous Communities also designate one senator and another for each million inhabitants of their respective territory", which in the case of Andalusia is that one plus another eight per its 8.5 million inhabitants.
In addition to the Loreg, the Statute of Autonomy, the Regulations of the Parliament of Andalusia, Andalusia has specific regulations for the procedure for electing senators: Law 19/2007 on the appointment of Senators representing the Autonomous Community of Andalusia .
Article 3.3 of Law 19/2007 states that "the Board of the Chamber, in agreement with the Board of Spokespersons, will establish the number of senators that, proportionally, it is appropriate to propose to each parliamentary group, applying rule D for this purpose." 'Hondt to the number of Deputies that each parliamentary group has in the Parliament of Andalusia.'
The Regulations of the Parliament of Andalusia establish in its article 180.3 that "the president of Parliament will set the deadline in which the representatives of the different parliamentary groups will have to propose their candidacies" , so that "once the deadline has expired, he will make the proposals public." presented" and for this "it will convene the Plenary Session of Parliament for the corresponding designation."
Article 106.17 of the Statute of Autonomy states that "the designation may fall to any citizen who holds the political status of Andalusian", so that they will not necessarily have to be chosen from among the regional parliamentarians. |
